Bring Theatre Home

Our CDA Dallas Theatre program has practiced and performed in a number of venues over the years. In our move to our new campus, we were able to ensure that we have excellent practice spaces for our Theatre students, and that a foundation was in place to eventually create a performance space as well.
We believe that now is the time to take the next step towards making this happen. Please read below about this specific project, as well as a note from Rev. Jordan about some of the guiding principles that shape our approach to improving our property!

What have we already done in the Theatre?
As part of our general campus renovations, we have already installed a theatrical grid for lighting and sound, painted the walls, installed new flooring and an initial round of sound barriers.
What needs to happen to host performances, and by when?
In order to Bring Theatre Home, we need to install a 225-seat retractable stadium seating unit, equip the grid with lights and sound, and install additional sound barriers and a curtain system. Our goal is to perform our Spring 2027 shows in our new theatre, which means raising funds and completing work by Winter 26-27.
A performance space for our Theatre program is a win for our own students. But it is also a significant opportunity for us to host like-minded theatrical groups who need a performance space to rent. (Read more on our approach to Missionally-aligned Revenue below!)

A Note From Rev. Jordan
Wise Stewardship, Generosity, and Missionally-aligned Revenue
To ensure we are wise stewards of what God has given us, and that our tuition remains as affordable as possible, we have adopted a few guiding principles when it comes to campus improvements.
First, we maintain a posture of gratitude and flexibility with what God has already provided. Our facilities, staff, and campus culture is currently in a place that we could not have even dreamed of five years ago. Praise God for what he has provided!
Second, we are committed to using gifts—not our operating budget that is tied to tuition—to continue to improve our campus. We have plans for the next several major and minor improvements to this beautiful property, and our pace will be determined by the generosity of those called to give.
Finally, we continue to work to identify missionally-aligned partners who can use our property in return for revenue that helps offset our annual operating budget.
The Dallas Campaign to secure this building is a perfect example of this approach. Our families and staff remained joyfully resilient over the past few years, our community and friends gave over $7 million to make this move happen, and we are already hosting partners like Binnerri Church, Sky Ranch, Bright Lights, and Cambridge School of Dallas in our new facilities.
I am looking forward to the many ways this type of work will continue in the decades to come!
Rev. Jordan
